3.5GHz High Gain Omni Antenna

8 May 2002

High gain omni antenna XVO11-3500-D2/799The 3.5GHz band has become the world's major licenced frequency for broadband fixed radio access for fast data rate transmission. Since the frequency band has expanded and now covers at least 3.3 to 3.8GHz, European Antennas has produced a broadband, high gain omni antenna to provide an excellent entry-level for any wireless local loop system within this range. Only one omni antenna is therefore needed in an initial OEM's inventory to cover the entire band of 3.3 to 3.8GHz.

Having a corporate (parallel) feed network, phase and amplitude is carefully controlled to each of the radiating elements allowing the key features of electrical down-tilt and null-fill below the horizon to be incorporated as standard. This allows operators to plan their network to optimise subscriber numbers.

As system requirements grow, range and subscriber numbers can be increased by selecting from the company's numerous high gain sector antennas (30, 60, 90, 120 and 180 degree azimuth angles).

With 10dBi gain, model XVO11-3500-D2/799 meets ETSI EN302-065 v1.1.2 CS omni specifications over the band 3.3 to 3.7GHz, and still has useful gain and excellent patterns between 3.7 to 3.8GHz so that it can be used where ETSI is not applicable.

The antenna has a glass fibre radome which is UV stable and can meet the rigours of the environments called up by ETSI regulations. A rugged, stainless steel mounting kit is available.

Antenna dimensions are 904mm x 98mm diameter (35.6 x 3.8 inches) and with wind loading of only 13.43kg at 160kph, initial installation costs can be kept to a minimum.

This antenna supplements European Antennas' other 3.5GHz wireless local loop base station antennas that are listed on the company's catalogue.
